I'M SO CLOSE, YOU GUYS. I've done all but ten of the non-hat styles, and of those ten I'm going to hide all but two*, maybe four. I have a couple more meshes to tweak (including some age conversions that fit oddly or have normals issues), a few alphas to fix, and then I can upload the lot. :D (I will do the hats, just in a separate batch).
In order, from left to right, top to bottom:long (Bella Goth's hair) with Nymphy's curls, pagepunk (with a mesh edit), barrette with Nouk's waves, rosettes with Nouk's afro texture, shorttuckin, and acorntuck (with a mesh edit).
---
* Still to be done: crewcut, formal (a CF only updo with a ribbon)
May be done if I'm feeling patient: pompadore, ricebowl
Not going to happen because they are substandard and ugly: feather, mediumcenterpart (it's just a crappier version of acorntuck), ponytailhigh, flypigtails, frontalwave, round (the deflated soccerball Maxis tried to pass off as an afro).

Barette in particular looks damn good-- can I steal your textures for full-Pooklet purposes? Also, your long/maid/Bella looks just stunning. I hated mine, but I got so fed up with it I just put my hands up on it.
Rosettes looks MUCH better ethnic, and I am now tempted to un-hide at least the brown and the black for Twikkii purposes (which is just about the only way I could cram it in my game, but I think it's a very practical hairstyle for, for example, a huntress living in an Afro-Caribbean/Hawaiian/Castaway Stories mashup. The Twikkii don't discriminate gender roles so much as some of the other societies in my head).

Date: 2011-04-02 08:09 pm (UTC)You may definitely give any texture you like the full Pooklet! I'll be glad to see them, since my computer is slow enough doing the 16 naturals can take an hour or more per hair, even if I import textures via SimPE for styles with a lot of groups. It's pretty painful.
I forgot to take a screenshot of the back of the barrette hair -- I found a nifty little bar barrette with a simple Celtic knotwork design that fit just right on the mesh with minimal tweaking. Looks much better than the original squiggle.
The long hair is a pain in the butt -- that was my fourth attempt. I finally got something good after trying Nymphy's curl edit of Nouk's waves -- looking at the alpha file she provided got me to thinking about how to apply the textures much differently than I had been. I started from the alpha up and the results were so much better!
